Virtual Meditation Series
Monthly Grounding for Black Queer & Trans Healing
This monthly meditation series offers a consistent and nourishing space to explore the inner terrain of healing, presence, and ancestral connection. Rooted in timeless yogic philosophy and shaped by the lived experiences of Black queer and trans people, each session honors both the ancient and the now.
This is a Black queer and trans centered space. All are welcome to attend, and we ask participants to enter with humility and a willingness to listen, not lead. Black LGBTQ+ voices and experiences are at the heart of this offering. Allies, co-conspirators, and curious supporters are invited to participate with care, bearing witness without centering themselves.
These practices are grounded in the fullness of yogic tradition, drawn deeply from its original philosophical roots and cultural frameworks. Meditation is explored through the lens of Samkhya philosophy, subtle embodiment, Ayurveda, and the Eight Limbs of Yoga. These systems are held not as abstract ideas, but as living and breathing pathways to liberation.
While some teachings may resonate across contemplative traditions, this space is rooted in the wisdom lineages that gave rise to yoga. We hold this work with reverence for its cultural integrity and spiritual depth. Through practices like working with the chakras, koshas, kleshas, prana, and mudras, we reconnect with inner clarity, stillness, and the sacred intelligence of the body.
Each session invites us to explore what it means to be whole in a world that often fragments us. Together, we reclaim rest, breath, and mindfulness as birthrights, essential tools for healing and collective renewal.
Whether you are new to meditation or returning to your practice, this series offers a welcoming rhythm of reflection, spiritual inquiry, and community. Sessions are held virtually on Zoom and are intentionally designed to be accessible, healing, and affirming.

A guided practice exploring the five layers of being (koshas) and how they support holistic healing for Black and Brown queer folks navigating multiple realities.
Accountability and Care
Gentle reminders: If someone forgets or drifts from our agreements, facilitators or peers may offer a respectful reminder to return to our shared commitments.
Self-awareness: Notice your patterns. If you tend to dominate conversations or withdraw completely, pause and recalibrate. Balance is a shared responsibility.
Private reflection and support: If something arises that feels uncomfortable or harmful, you are invited to reach out privately to the facilitator for follow-up, support, or repair.
Ongoing learning: No one is expected to be perfect. This is a space for practice, not perfection. Mistakes are part of learning, and accountability is part of care.
Community Agreements:
These shared agreements hold the container for our time together. They reflect the values of this Black queer and trans centered space and guide how we show up in practice and in community. All participants are asked to read, honor, and return to these intentions throughout the series.
Arrive as you are: This is a space for your full self. You are not expected to have it all together. Your presence is enough.
Center Black queer and trans people: This space is rooted in our lived experiences. All are welcome, but those outside of these identities are asked to listen more than they speak, respect the focus, and remain aware of their impact.
Show up with care: Join on time, stay through the full session if possible, and tend to your own space so you can be present for the group. If you must arrive late or leave early, do so with minimal disruption.
Practice mindful communication: Speak from your own experience. Listen with your whole body. Make space for others. Reflect before responding. This is not a space for advice, fixing, or performance.
Honor consent and capacity: All practices are optional. You are encouraged to modify, pause, or step away at any time. Trust your body’s wisdom and needs.
Uphold confidentiality: What is shared in this space stays here. We protect each other’s vulnerability by holding stories with respect and care.
Welcome accountability as care: If harm or discomfort arises, we address it gently and directly. Facilitators may offer reminders, and you are always welcome to reach out for private support. This is a space for learning, not perfection.
Be part of the collective rhythm: Your presence shapes the energy of the space. Stay attuned to how you contribute, and return to these agreements when the space feels off-balance.
